Theft reported
Southwest Regional police said a rental car being driven by Michael Martin of Mt. Morris was stolen from a location on Big Shannon Run Road in Perry Twp. sometime between 12 and 3 p.m. Aug. 24. The vehicle is a 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe, silver in color. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Southwest Regional police at 724-929-8484.
Candy stolen
State police said sometime between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 25 and 7 a.m. Aug. 26 someone stole candy from a box truck while it was parked at a location on Shelby Lane in Dunkard Twp.
Hit and run
Kyle Hallam of Jefferson reported Aug. 27 that a vehicle struck his fence on Center School Road in Morgan Twp. and fled the scene, state police said. Police said the suspect vehicle was a burgundy Mazda that sustained front-end damage.
Man charged
State police said John B. Ketchem, 52, of Waynesburg was charged with public drunkenness following an incident that occurred at Southwest Regional Medical Center in Waynesburg at 7 p.m. Sept. 2. Police said Ketchem was charged after causing a disturbance at the medical center while under the influence of alcohol.
Money stolen
State police said sometime between 9:30 p.m. Sept. 1 and 10:30 p.m. Sept. 2 someone entered the First Methodist Church in Carmichaels, forced their way into a locked area and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
