ALL-CLASS REUNION – Carmichaels Area High School and Cumberland Township High School will be holding an all-class reunion on Sept. 13 and 14 at the Carmichaels Firehall. SQUARE DANCE – Square dancing (also line dancing, polkas, cake walk and more) will be held on Friday, Sept. 13 from 7-10 p.m. at the Rogersville Fire Hall. Caller will be Dave Dahl. HERITAGE FESTIVAL – On Saturday, Sept. 14, Ryerson Station State Park invites the public to attend the third annual Outdoor Heritage Festival. The event will be held at the park from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the Day Use Area. Activities will include: camping, fishing, geocaching, trail hiking and walking, historical and interpretive programs for children and adults, nature photography, wildlife monitoring, wildlife watching and birding. CAR CRUISE – The 12th annual 50’s Fest and Car Cruise wuill be held in downtown Waynesburg on Saturday, Sept. 14. Come and check out over 300 hot rods, trucks and motorcycles. Step back in time while you enjoy 50’s food, music, activities and competitions. PULLING EXPO – The 15th annual Greene County Lucas Oil Pulling Expo will be held at the Greene County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Sept. 14. The event will feature Hot Rod Semi’s, Super Stock Trucks, Super Farm Tractors and Super Modified 2WD Trucks. Gates will open at 4 p.m., and the event will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the county’s recreation office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rain date for this event has been scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. For more info, call 724-627-9160.

SPECIAL SERVICE – First Assembly of God, located at 4131 West Roy Furman Highway in Waynesburg (Eastview), will be honoring area First Responders on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. in its morning worship service. All Greene County First Responders and their families have been invited to the service and to a ribs and chicken barbeque on the church grounds following the service provided in appreciation for their services to our communities. HEROES RUN/WALK – The Heroes 5k Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Greene River Trail, located at the Greene Cove Yacht Club in Millsboro. The Greene River Trail Heroes Run/Walk is being held in memory of the late U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Steven Phillips and U.S. Army Specialist Gregory Cox. FESTIVAL PLANNED – The 43rd annual Covered Bridge Festival will be held Sept. 21 and 22 at the White Covered Bridge in Garards Fort and the Carmichaels Covered Bridge in Carmichaels. The festival will feature crafters, Civil War re-enactments, live entertainment, and home cooking. OPEN HOUSE – Lippencott Alpacas in Waynesburg will host a National Alpaca Farm Days/Open House on Saturday, Sept. 28. The event will feature Alpaca seminars, hand-spinning demonstrations and a variety of vendors including Thistlethwaite Vineyards will be on site. Children’s activities and hay rides will be available. The event will happen rain or shine. The farm is located at 265 Meadowbrook Road near the village of Lippencott. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. each day. FARMERS’ MARKET – The Greensboro Farmers’ Market will be held, rain or shine, each Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 1 pm., now through October. In case of severe weather warnings, the market may be postponed for opening or canceled.
