Ethel Pearl Fox Haines, 95, of Mt Morris, PA, died at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the home of her daughter Martha.

She was born Tuesday, October 30, 1917 in Perry Twp., Greene Co. a daughter of the late Noah Fox and Ethel Wade Fox.

Mrs. Haines was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School class of 1938. She was a member of the Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a Lay Speaker since 1956 having preached in several churches both in Greene and Fayette Counties. She enjoyed quilting, flowers and gardening. She loved to bake, especially Salt Raisin’ Bread. Mrs. Haines had worked for Dr. Brooks in Mt. Morris for several years.

Her husband Wilmer M. Haines, whom she married on February 04, 1939 died November 16, 1995.

Surviving are two daughters, Ethel Pearl Simmons, and Martha Statler (George) Bell, both of Spraggs; three sons, Van (Lorraine) Haines, of Mannington, West Virginia, W. Harold (Susan) Haines, of Spraggs, and Rev. Kenneth A. (Twyla) Haines, Mount Morris; twenty grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is one first cousin, Marion Wade of Mt. Morris.

Mrs. Haines was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased are three great-great grandchildren and one brother, Harold Fox.

Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St Waynesburg, PA 15370.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, in Mt. Morris at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 for graveside services with Lay Speaker Lawrence Albert Flenniken officiating.
