Bowlby library announces October events
The Eva K. Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg recently announced the following events for October.
n Fall Story hours begin on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Plan to pre-register your infant, toddler or preschooler, children 7-12, and young adults for ten weeks of story time fun at the library. The library is currently taking registrations for the following story hours: Acting Up, ages 6-12 on Mondays at 4 p.m.; preschoolers ages 3-4 on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., and ages 4-5 on Mondays at 11:30 a.m.; toddlers ages 18-35 months on Tuesdays at 5 p.m. and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.; young adults ages 13 and up on Wednesdays at 4 p.m.; Stories Under the Moon, 3-6 years on Wednesdays at 5 p.m.; and Baby Lapsit, birth to 18 months on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. For more information, call the Children’s Department at 724-627-9776.
n The library will be closed Monday, Oct. 14 in observance of Columbus Day. The library will reopen on Tuesday morning as normally scheduled.
n The Bowlby Library Book Club will be meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 5 p.m. The book discussion will be “Girls Like Us” by Sheila Weller. New members are encouraged to attend. For more information, call the library.
n On Friday, Oct. 25, the library is hosting a Family Literacy Fall Festival from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be many fall-themed activities, games, crafts and snack foods for the whole family to enjoy together. Call the library to preregister.
n Curious or confused about the library’s new WAGGIN online card catalog and how to take advantage of its many benefits?
The Bowlby Public Library is offering WAGGIN Informational Sessions during the month of October. These sessions will introduce you to the Polaris database and the library’s online catalog, as well as managing your online account.
Plan to attend one of the session classes: Oct. 9 at 3 p.m., Oct. 17 at 10 a.m., or Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m. Call the library to reserve your seat.
