Edna Shahan Roy
Edna Shahan Roy, 87, of Waynesburg, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013, in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.
She was born Friday, January 29, 1926 in Terra Alta, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Kenneth Shahan and Verona Haught Shahan.
Mrs. Roy was a lifetime member of the Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a Life Member and an active member of the East Franklin Grange #1709. Mrs. Roy was also a member of the Whiteley Twp. Farm Women and the United Methodist Women of Claughton Chapel.
Mrs. Roy worked as a Medical Technician at the West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, for 19 years, retiring in 1989.
Her Husband Clyde Frederick Roy, whom she married on May 03, 1947 died April 3, 1984.
Surviving is one daughter, Sharon (Shirrel) Hixenbaugh, of Waynesburg; one son, Gary L. (Kimberly) Roy, of Mount Morris; two grandchildren, Shane Hixenbaugh and Shad Hixenbaugh; two great grandchildren, Chase Hixenbaugh and Aspen Hixenbaugh; one sister-in-law, Shirley Shahan of Marianna and one nephew, Dan Shahan of Washington, Pa.
She was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased is one son, Larry Roy, one daughter-in-law, Mary Roy; one sister, Juanita Shahan, and one brother, Kenneth Shahan, Jr.
Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 with Rev. Ronald Geisler officiating.
