David “Dave” Stoneking
David “Dave” Stoneking, 83, of Bedford, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014.
He was born in Davistown, a son of the late Lester and Idesta Ross Stoneking.
Mr. Stoneking was a graduate of Mapletown High School. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Retiring from Ford Motor Co., he spent his later years in Bedford, enjoying good times with friends at the racetrack, and Davistown, where he loved hunting, the outdoors and driving his antique tractor on the original Stoneking homestead along Dunkard Creek.
Mr. Stoneking loved and cared for his family and never missed the annual Stoneking reunion.
Deceased are sisters Betty (infant), formerly of Davistown, and Carol Cumberledge, formerly of Lorain, Ohio; brothers Charles (Eileen), formerly of Adrian, Mich., Robert, formerly of Wilson Creek, Wash., Tommy (Dorothy), formerly of Renton, Wash., Harry Allen (Sharon), formerly of Amherst, Ohio, Donald (Dorothy), formerly of Massillon, Ohio, and Terrance (Ruby), formerly of Mt. Morris; and brother-in-law William Emge (Jeane), formerly of Saltsburg.
Mr. Stoneking was a kind, fun-loving and generous man who will be greatly missed.
Surviving are brother Daniel of Waynesburg; sisters Jeane Emge of Saltsburg, Anna Mae Gustely of Dilliner and Linda Danko of DeForest, Wis.; sisters-in-law Eileen, Dorothy, Ruby and Janet Hoyt, all of Elyria, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and his loving partner and “sweetie,” Celia Munici.
