LIBRARY EVENT – Flenniken Library in Carmichaels will host “Mother Goose Olympics” on Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. Children ages 2-8 are invited to come in and learn about nursery rhymes during the Mother Goose Olympics. The kids get to reenact some of the famous scenes using both their brains and their brawn. For more info, call the library at 724-966-5263.

HAMMER-IN – The annual Hammer-In in Rices Landing will be held on April 19. Come to Rices Landing and enjoy the days of the past. This event, which begins at 9 a.m., brings blacksmiths together for a day of demonstrations. Also available will be tours of the foundry and an auction, which will start at 1 p.m. The public is welcome. Lunch will be available, and admission is free. All proceeds benefit the W.A. Young Foundry, the Pittsburgh Area Artist-Blacksmiths Association (PAABA) and the Appalachian Blacksmith Association (ABA). For more info, call the PAABA at 724-774-6757.

COMMUNITY DINNER – A community dinner will be held at Rogersville United Methodist Church (Social Hall), Friday, April 25, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The meal will include baked ziti, salad, garlic bread, dessert and drink. BENEFIT EVENT – “The Jason Christopher Comedy Hypnosis Show” will be held on Wednesday, April 30, at the West Greene Middle/Senior High School Auditorium. Show time is 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the door. Tickets on sale via West Greene Chorus students and parents, or by contacting olisarj@wgsd.org. Proceeds from the show will benefit the West Greene Chorus.

RAMP FESTIVAL – The 24th annual Mason-Dixon Ramp Festival will be held April 26-27 from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. The event will feature food vendors, crafters, music, ramp wine tasting, door prizes, raffles and more. RAMP FEAST – A Ramp Dinner will be held on Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Mason-Dixon Historical Park (Red Barn). The dinner will be buffet style (self serve). Cost is $9 for adults, $5 for youths age 12 and under. Free age 5 and under with adult. Located at the Mason-Dixon Historical Park where the Red Barn is located at 79 Buckeye Road, Core, W.Va. FLAG DISTRIBUTION – The Greene County Veterans Affairs office recently provided info regarding flag distribution for 2014. Pickup day for organizations is May 2 at the Ben Franklin Building in Waynesburg between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Cemeteries need to pick up flags May 12-16 at the veterans affairs office between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. For more info, call the office at 724-852-5275.

DINNER SHOW – A dinner show and dance to benefit the Waynesburg Senior Center will be held at the Center Township Fire Hall in Rogersville on Saturday, May 3 from 5 to 10 p.m. Performances by The Last Resort, Dave Clark, Bob Podish and “Eulah Mae McGillicuty.” Dinner will include all-you-can-eat spaghetti, salad, rolls, dessert, drinks and snacks. SUPPORT GROUP – T.O.P.S. – Taking Off Pounds Sensibly is a weight management support group that meets every Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Bowlby Public Library. New members are always welcome.
