Bowlby Library announces upcoming events
The Eva K. Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg recently announced the following upcoming events.
n The Family Literacy and Children’s Department at the Bowlby Public Library is cosponsoring an After Hours Spring Fling on Friday, May 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. Children of all ages and their families are invited to attend. Pre-register by calling 724-627-9776.
n The Bowlby Book Club will be meeting on Monday, May 12 at 6 p.m. The book discussion will be “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak. New members are always welcome to attend and join the club.
n The Bowlby Public Library will be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day.
n The Tiny Tim Tomato Project will be held on Tuesday, June 3 at 5 p.m. for children ages 2-6 years of age. A Master Gardener will be at the library to guide youngsters on planting and growing their very own healthy tomato plant. There will also be special stories and crafts about gardening with Mrs. Kerry McClure, head of the Children’s department. Register today by calling the library at 724-627-9776.
n The Family Literacy and Children’s Departments at the Bowlby Public Library will present a three-part series for young children and their families on personal and home safety. The three sessions of the safety series will be held on Saturdays, June 7, 14, and 21. Be sure to mark these important dates on your calendar. n It’s Movie Night @ Your Library on Wednesday, May 28. Promptly beginning at 6 p.m. “Saving Mr. Banks” will be showing in the library’s Young Adult room. There is limited seating, so call ahead to reserve your seat at 724-627-9776.
n The Friends of the Bowlby Public Library is accepting new members. Joining the organization is easy and your-tax deductible donation will benefit the library.
The Friends of the Library group consists of people who care about libraries and who are interested in promoting the welfare and growth of the Bowlby Library.
