STUFF THE BUS – Greene County United Way is presenting the 12th annual “Stuff the Bus” program. “Stuff the Bus” is designed to assist low-income children. United Way is seeking donations of school supplies such as backpacks, lunchboxes, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, book covers, notebooks, binders and folders. Collection boxes for your business can be supplied. Monetary donations are always appreciated. On Wednesday, Aug. 13, backpacks will be presented to the children at the Lion’s Club Park and lunch will be provided by the Summer Food Service Program through Central Greene School District. GOLF TOURNAMENT – The Social Service League will have their 22nd annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 9 at Rohanna’s Golf Course. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the Four Man Scramble Shot Gun start will begin at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $280 per team and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, donuts and coffee, lunch and refreshments. First Federal Savings and Loan will be sponsoring the hole in one prizes. The first place team will receive a cash prize of $300. GENEALOGY CLASS – If you have ever wanted to know more about your family history or where your ancestors came from, but don’t know where to start, come to the Greene Academy of Art. Learn how to begin your research and find out fascinating facts about your family tree. The Beginner’s Genealogy class will be held on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Feel free to bring your laptop; wi-fi is available. There is no cost for this workshop. SQUARE DANCE – A square dance (also line dancing, polkas, cake walk and more) will be held on Friday, Aug. 15 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Rogersville Fire Hall. Caller will be Dave Dahl. FRONTIER FESTIVAL – The annual Mason-Dixon Frontier Festival will be held on Aug. 23-24 from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. Free admission.
