David Matthew Whipkey (Chunk), age 42, of Nemacolin, died December 11, 2014 from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Route 21, near Waynesburg.

Mr. Whipkey was born October 7, 1972 n Waynesburg, the son of Darlene Branisel Micozzi and David R. Whipkey.

Mr. Whipkey was a graduate of Carmichaels Area High School, class of 1990 and the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts, Pittsburgh in 1992.

On July 24, 2013, David married Candi Cole Whipkey who survives.

Also surviving are his stepmother, Katherine (Kitty) Whipkey; stepfather, Albert (Butch) Micozzi; daughter, Jeweliana Lucille Whipkey, Colver, Pa.; son, Jacob, Beallsville, Pa.; four stepchildren, Andrew Michael Cole, Arianna, Mila, Suri Rahbar; two brothers, Jason Whipkey (Heidi) and Christopher Whipkey (Danielle), both of Carmichaels; three step brothers, Gerald Swift (Connie), Jeff Swift, Brian Swift (Tammy); his paternal grandparents, J. Dale and Lucille Whipkey, Carmichaels and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are his maternal grandparents, Julius and Bena Branisel.

Mr. Whipkey was an Insurance Inspector for Mueller Reports, and Site Inspections Company. He was a member of St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels. David enjoyed cooking, camping, dancing, and spending time with his family, and friends. He was an avid Steelers, Pirates, and Pens fan, and attended many games. He is now resting peacefully with the Lord.

Friends will be received in the Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Pa. 15320 (724-966-5100), Paul M. Lesako Funeral Director/Supervisor on Sunday from2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Monday followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Hugh Church, Carmichaels with the Reverend John M. Bauer, Celebrant. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
