COMMUNITY DINNER – The monthly community dinner at Rogersville United Methodist Church (Social Hall) will be held on Friday, Dec. 19 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The meal will include baked ziti, salad, garlic bread, dessert and drink. LIBRARY HOURS – The Bowlby Public Library will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. The library will be closing early on New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 31; business hours on that Wednesday will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The library will be closed Thursday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

HOLIDAY ESCAPE – Holiday Escape 2014 will be held on Monday, Dec. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Greene County Fairgrounds (4-H Building). All children must be accompanied by an adult; please bring your own pillow and comfortable seating. Registration is required; call 724-852-5276 to register.

ALL-NIGHT SKATE – New Year’s Eve All-Night Skate will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31. Roll in 2015 with the annual New Year’s Eve All-Night Skate to bring in the new year from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the Mon View Roller Rink and Community Center at 377 Stoney Hill Road in Greensboro. There will be games and prizes. Cost is $10. Call 724-943-3440 for more info.

DINNER THEATRE – Musical Mysteries & More and Thistlethwaite Vineyards will present “I Spy Five Spies,” an “Unusual Suspects” mystery caper, on Saturday, Jan. 31. Cost is $45, which includes an all-inclusive dinner and cash wine bar. Complimentary wine tasting before doors open. Doors open at 6 p.m. For reservations, call 724-883-3372.

QUILTERS AVAILABLE – The Waynesburg Community (Senior) Center quilters have openings for quilt tops to be quilted. If you have a quilt top and would like them to do it for you, contact Patty Tharp at the Center at 724-627-6366. The quilters raise money for the center by making quilts and all the quilting is done by hand the old-fashioned way.
