Joan L. Yarish

Joan L. Yarish, 78, of Carmichaels, died at 6:10 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at her home.

She was born February 4, 1936 in Ronco, Fayette County, Pa. a daughter of the late John and Agnes (Volasy) Nagy.

Mrs. Yarish was a 1953 graduate of All Saints High School in Masontown, and resided in Carmichaels most of her life. She worked as a supervisor for Gateway Manufacturing Company in Masontown and was a member of the St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church and Altar Rosary Society in Carmichaels. She enjoyed cooking and baking.

On June 15, 1957, she married Don Yarish, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Marianna Tekavec and her husband, Thomas, of Morgantown, West Virginia and Donna Marie Yarish Calvert of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three grandchildren, Arianna Brooke Calvert, Gunnar Calvert and Sarah Nicole Tekavec and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are four sisters, Erma Yakubec (Cobe), Rose Adams (Alex), Margaret Adams (Bill) and Pearl Uglik (Frank).

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels. A parish vigil service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
