Russell D. Broadwater

Russell D. Broadwater, 75, of Carmichaels, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, in his home.

He was born January 19, 1939, in Jefferson, a son of the late Henry and Hazel Bane Broadwater.

Mr. Broadwater was a 1957 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.

He was a supervisor for Ford Motor Company for 34 years. After retirement, he moved back to Greene County and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Waynesburg.

Mr. Broadwater was an avid hunter with his family and friends.

On October 1, 1960, he married Juanita J. “Nita” Smitley, who survives.

Also surviving are three children, Rusty Broadwater of Waynesburg, Loretta “Mickie” Broadwater of Ravenna, Ohio, and Michelle Brannon and her husband Travis of Mingo Junction, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Scott, Kurt, Connie, Brandon, Amber, Mooch, Kristen, Ryan and Brittany; seven great-grandchildren, Kayson, Aaliyah, Braxton, Khloe, Gavyn, Lola and Noah Russell; four sisters, Edna Waychoff of Dickson, Tenn., Virginia Bayles of Mather, Nancy McNeely of Waynesburg and Patricia Reggets (Don) of Jefferson; and a brother, Calvin “Jim” Broadwater (Elfie) of Tracey, Calif.

Deceased are three brothers, William Broadwater, Kenneth Broadwater and Floyd Broadwater.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, with the Rev. John Poling officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson.
