Betty L. Day Gaus
Betty L. Day Gaus, 93, of Clarksville, formerly of Waynesburg, died at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in the Lasosky’s Personal Care Home in Clarksville.
She was born Sunday, January 16, 1921 in Sycamore, a daughter of the late Edward Day and Irene Kiger Day.
Mrs. Gaus was a member of the Oakview United Methodist Church in Waynesburg. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She had worked as a clerk for G.C. Murphy Co. for several years and then worked as a Final Inspector at Greenway Shirt Manufacturing in Waynesburg for over 20 years.
Her husband, Lawrence W. “Bill” Gaus, whom she married on November 10, 1945 died February 23, 1989.
Surviving are one daughter, Sue (William) Dowlin, of Waynesburg; one son, Ron (Susan) Gaus, of Fairmont, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Bill (Jamie) Dowlin Jr., Michael (Susan) Gaus, Kim Gaus, Steven (Tennille) Dowlin, Kelli Kelly, Scott Dowlin; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is one sister, Marybelle Adamson.
Friends were received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, Pa., 15370, where services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 with Rev. Robert Bedison officiating.
