Local resident graduates from WVU School of Pharmacy

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –Briana Jo (Vance) Kocher of Waynesburg was awarded a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy.

Dr. Kocher is the daughter of Tammy and Will Vance. She is a graduate of Waynesburg Central High School.

While studying at the WVU School of Pharmacy, Dr. Kocher served as treasurer of the Alpha Omicron chapter of the Lambda Kappa Sigma (LKS) international professional pharmacy fraternity and Over-the-Counter Medication co-chair of the WVU chapter of the National Community Pharmacists Association. She was also a member of the WVU chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists and WVU chapter of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists-Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

Kocher was a recipient of the LKS Annual Convention Travel Scholarship. From the WVU School of Pharmacy, she was a recipient of the Exley Memorial Scholarship and the Mary Ann Pavlick and Helen Pavlech Scholarship.

Kocher will be completing a community pharmacy practice residency with the University of Kentucky and Kroger Pharmacy in Lexington, Ky.
