Lynda Boring Miller
Lynda Boring Miller, 76, of McClellandtown, Pa., died unexpectedly at 12:23 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014 in Excela Health-Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, Pa.
She was born April 19, 1938 in Bute, West Leisenring, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Barbara (Maraugha) Boring.
Mrs. Miller resided in McClellandtown since 1960 and was a member of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels. She has been a member of the Greene Valley Choir for the past 36 years and volunteered to bake the communion bread for the past 25 years. In addition, Mrs. Miller sang with the Sweet Expressions, a nursing home ministry within the Church. She volunteered with Children’s Bible Ministries of Southwestern Pennsylvania, Jefferson and was a member of the Busy Needles Knitting Group, and the Bunko Women’s Club, both in McClellandtown. Mrs. Miller was also a member of the Red Hat Society in Carmichaels and Uniontown Chapter No. 263, Order of the Eastern Star.
On July 8, 1955, she married Ron Miller, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, R. Scott Miller and his wife, Lisa, of Carmichaels; a daughter Beth Burnsworth and her husband, John, of York, Pa.; three grandchildren, Jeremiah S. Miller, and his wife Cassandra of Carmichaels, Jarrod R. Miller of Morgantown, W.Va. and Wes Burnsworth of York; four great grandchildren, Kallie L. Miller, Aiden S. Miller, Tristan M. Miller and Brynnlee Marie Miller and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents are two sisters, Emma Deitz, Olive Fike and a cousin, Barbara Dickson, with whom she was raised.
Family and friends are welcomed from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels. There will be no visitation on Mother’s Day. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014 in the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, 104 E. Greene St., Carmichaels with the Reverends P. Keith Larson and Harold O. Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown. Uniontown Chapter No. 263 O. E. S. will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home.
