OPEN GREENHOUSE – The Waynesburg FFA Greenhouse will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 9 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 10 at the Waynesburg Central High School. Items available for sale are hanging baskets, mini-hanging baskets, large planters, small planters, four-inch pots, AND six packs and flats of flowers and vegetables.

SQUARE DANCE – A square dance (also line dancing, polkas, cake walk and more) will be held on Friday, May 9 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Rogersville Fire Hall. Caller will be Dave Dahl. Cost is $5 per person or $8 per couple. Food and drinks will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m. Benefits Center Twp. Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Call 724-499-5385 for additional info.

SPRING FLING – The Family Literacy and Children’s Department at the Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg is cosponsoring an After Hours Spring Fling on Friday, May 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. Children of all ages and their families are invited to attend. Pre-register by calling 724-627-9776.

GNP CONCERT – Waynesburg University will host the 44th Anniversary Gross National Product (GNP) concert Saturday, May 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Goodwin Performing Arts Center. SPECIAL EVENT – A presentation called “Water Quality in the Age of Fracking” will be held on May 14 at the Greene County Fairgrounds, Building #10, from 7 to 9 p.m. Hosted by the SW PA Woodland Owners, the event will take a look at critical issues such as threats to drinking and ground water and what can landowners do to be prepared for concerns. CAR SHOW – The fourth annual “Cruisin’ for a Cure” Car Show will be held on May 17 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Alpha Aquatic Center in Waynesburg. SHEEP FEST – The 11th annual Sheep and Fiber Fest will be held May 17-18 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Sponsored by Waynesburg Prosperous and Beautiful. Enjoy a fun filled day exploring the many facets of natural fiber production and use. See the variety of sheep breeds and learn about their unique traits and uses. Visit the alpaca booth and learn about the differences between sheep and alpacas. Throughout the day, watch sheep and alpaca shearing and dog shepherding. Juried craft and fiber art supply vendors are setup indoors displaying a wide variety of items made from natural fibers (sheep, alpaca, and others) and assorted finished crafts related to the fiber field. HORSE SHOW – The 57th annual Waynesburg Horse Show will be held May 23-25 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Presented by the SWPA Saddle Club, the charity event benefits the Greene County Humane Society. For more info, call 724-627-3459 or 724-372-5481.

CIRCUS RETURNS – The Kelly Miller Circus will return to the Greene County Fairgrounds on May 27. Show times are 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. For more info, call the Greene County Historical Society at 724-627-3204.

MOVIE NIGHT – Movie Night will be held at the Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg on Wednesday, May 28. Promptly beginning at 6 p.m. “Saving Mr. Banks” will be showing in the library’s Young Adult room. There is limited seating, so call ahead to reserve your seat at 724-627-9776.
