COUNTY CALENDAR
CHURCH DINNER – Rolling Meadows Church of God Women’s Ministries will hold a dinner at the church, located at 595 Rolling Meadows Road in Waynesburg, on Friday, May 16 from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Dinner includes choice of creamed chicken over biscuit or cabbage roll, mashed potatoes, green beans, dessert and drink. Eat-in or take-out available. Cost is $8.50 for adults, $4.25 for children ages 4-12, and $2 for children under 4. All proceeds will benefit the church. CHILD SAFETY – The Pa. State Police in Waynesburg will be conducting a free child restraint checkup event on May 19 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Carmichaels/Cumberland Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept., located at 420 W. George St. in Carmichaels. Any parents wanting to have their child restraint checked for recalls and to learn how to properly secure child seats are encouraged to to participate. Certified restraint technicians from Pa. State Police will be available to assist.
ELECTION DAY MEALS – Election Day meals will be served at the Center Twp. Fire Hall in Rogersville on May 20. The Auxiliary will serve food from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Carryout available. Breakfast Menu is sausage gravy and biscuit; lunch menu is hot dogs, sloppy joes, Ham B-B-Q sandwiches, macaroni salad, cabbage and noodles, desserts and drinks; and dinner menu is creamed chicken and biscuit, mashed potatoes, corn, applesauce, dessert and drink. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.
CAR SHOW – The fourth annual “Cruisin’ for a Cure” Car Show will be held on May 17 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Alpha Aquatic Center in Waynesburg. SHEEP FEST – The 11th annual Sheep and Fiber Fest will be held May 17-18 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Sponsored by Waynesburg Prosperous and Beautiful. Enjoy a fun filled day exploring the many facets of natural fiber production and use. See the variety of sheep breeds and learn about their unique traits and uses. HORSE SHOW – The 57th annual Waynesburg Horse Show will be held May 23-25 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Presented by the SWPA Saddle Club, the charity event benefits the Greene County Humane Society. For more info, call 724-627-3459 or 724-372-5481.
