Rohanna tied for fifth in Domican Republic Open
Robert Rohanna had another steady round Friday, shooting a 4-under 68 for a 6-way tie for fifth place to make the cut in the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica’s Dominican Republic Open at Teeth of the Dog at the Casa de Campo Resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic.
Rohanna shot an opening round of 1-under 71 on Thursday for a two-day total of 5-under 139.
American Rick Cochran III was alone in first place with a 10-under 134.
Rohanna finished the second round with five birdies and 1 bogey after opening with three birdies and two bogeys on Friday.
“I’ve been striking it well this week. I’m just solid with pretty much everything,” said Rohanna via Facebook Messenger.
“Yeah, I’m playing pretty steady. I made two bogeys and three birdies (on Thursday). Today, I made five birdies and one bogey, so that’s a good total. More birdies are always welcome, but I’ll take what I can get.”
Playing on a seaside course on an island has unique conditions to the courses at elevation Rohanna’s played so often during his first season on tour.
“The wind is pretty hard at times, so a moving day would need to be like 67 with the wind howling,” explained Rohanna.
