Lebanon Valley women shut out Yellow Jackets, 6-0

Lebanon Valley scored three goals over a 6-minute span in the first half Wednesday afternoon, and the host team’s defense took over from that point for a 6-0 victory over visiting Waynesburg in an ECAC championship tournament quarterfinal.

Lebanon Valley, the top seed, improves to 15-4-1 overall, while Waynesburg closes the season with an 8-9-3 mark.

Meghan Ross opened the scoring at 13:56 of the first half. Sammy Bost then scored a natural hat trick spread over the first and second half.

The ball was barely put into play after Ross’ goal before Bost found the back of the net at 14:30. Bost scored her second goal at 20:16 to spot Lebanon Valley a 3-0 first-half lead.

Bost then netted her third goal of the game and 19th of the season at 49:44 in the second half.

Laura Zimmermann and Amanda Douglass added goals in the second half for the final difference.

Waynesburg goalie Ciara Scott made eight saves. Lebanon Valley split goalie duties between Taylor Reinhold and Amy Overpeck, who combined to make three saves.

The Dutchmen host McDaniel Saturday morning in the ECAC semifinals.
