Charles Raymond “Ray” Crowe

Charles Raymond “Ray” Crowe, 85, of Center Twp, Greene Co., died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014, at home.
He was born Saturday, September 7, 1929 in Washington, a son of the late Ellis Elmer Crowe and Martha Ellen Simpson Crowe.
Mr. Crowe was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Waynesburg. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. Mr. Crowe especially enjoyed spending time with his family. For several years he worked for Republic Steel in Ohio as a Pipe Fitter. He moved back to Pennsylvania in 1970 and went to work in transportation for Western Center in Canonsburg retiring in 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Smith Crowe, whom he married on August 13, 1955.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sandra Sue (Larry) Ealy, of Uniontown and Sarah “Sissy” Crowe, of Center Twp.; three sons, Donald (Joyce) Wilson, of Charlotte, North Carolina, George (Linda) Crowe, of Center Twp. and William Curt (Myrtle) Crowe, of Jefferson; one daughter-in-law, Diana Crowe of Washington; 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Crowe was the last of his immediate family.
Deceased are one son, Charles Lee Crowe; three brothers, Edmond Crowe, William “Bill” Crowe, and Louis Crowe.
Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014 and on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 12:00p.m. to 1:00 p.m. all in the Trinity Baptist Church 821 East Roy Furman Hwy. Waynesburg. Services will be at 1:00p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 with the Rev. Dr. Edward Woods officiating. Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, PA 15370, are in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Greene Co. Memorial Park, Waynesburg, PA.
