Lois H. Spangenberg
Lois H. Spangenberg, 92, of Mapletown, died at 5:28 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the home of her daughter, Kimberly J. Michniak, in Dilliner.
She was born November 8, 1922 in Vestaburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Edward Kramer and Belle Louise (Zettler) Hickle.
Mrs. Spangenberg was a 1942 graduate of Mapletown High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Waynesburg College. She resided in Mapletown most of her life and was a member of the Greensboro Baptist Church. Mrs. Spangenberg taught for 35 years at the former Penn Pitt and Glassworks Elementary Schools of the Southeastern Greene School District and retired in 1980. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Teachers Association and the National Education Association.
On June 25, 1955, she married Walter “Dub” Spangenberg, who died January 6, 1995.
Surviving are her daughter, Kimberly J. Michniak and her husband, David, of Dilliner; a grand-son Richard D. Michniak and his wife, Kim of Richmond, Virginia; a great granddaughter, Avery Michniak and three nieces and two nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Kenneth Grimm and two sisters, her twin, Louise Hogue and Lola Marshall.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 with the Rev. Gary L. Whipkey officiating. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either the Greensboro Baptist Church, Greensboro, PA 15338 or to Amedisys Hospice, 2183 McClellandtown Rd, Masontown, PA 15461.
