Bruce M. Riley, Jr., 72 of Carmichaels, died Monday, November 24, 2014 in Washington Hospital.

He was born July 31, 1942, in Waynesburg a son of the late Bruce M. and Opal (Watters) Riley, Sr. He resided in the Khedive area all of his life.

Mr. Riley was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Semmes. Upon his return home he began working as a coal miner for US Steel and later Cumberland Mine until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Cumberland American Legion Post 400, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 819, both of Carmichaels, United Mine Workers of American Local 2300, and Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, Carmichaels.

Mr. Riley enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to travel on “excursions”, never knowing where you might end up. But most importantly he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife, Drema S. Riley whom he married June 17, 2014.

Surviving in addition are three sons, Bruce “Bubba” Riley of Carmichaels, David L. Riley, Sr., and his wife Carletta, of Carmichaels, and Gary L. Riley, Sr., and his wife, Tina of Morgantown, West Virginia; one step son, Terry D. Hurst, and his wife, Kelly of Belle Vernon; two daughters, Pamela J. Dobish of Carmichaels and Melanie J. Coss, and her husband, R.J., of Carmichaels; two step daughters, Amanda A. Kemp, and her husband, John of Ellsworth and Pamela S. Deems, and her husband, Brian of Brownsville; 10 grandchildren, Whitney Arbogast, David L. Riley, Jr., Jani L. Riley, Gary L. Riley, Jr., Alie McGee, Emily Ann Riley, Louie Dobish, R. J. Coss, Jr., Lauren Dobish and Cara Dobish; five step grandchildren, Autumn Kemp, Morgan Kemp, Joshua Hurst, Hannah Deems and Alexy Deems; five great grandchildren, Emma K. Arbogast, Jaxon Arbogast, Addy Riley, Austin Riley and Aiden Riley; one step great grandchild, Luca Kemp and a brother George Riley, and his wife Lucy of Carmichaels. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Deceased in addition to his parents is his first wife, Emogene “Emma” (Ewart) Riley, who died August 31, 2010; two brothers John and Howard Riley and a sister Frances Brown.

Family and friends are welcomed from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa. where Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Harold O. Kelley officiating. Interment will be private.
