Two suspects charged in child pornography cases
The Messenger recently obtained information regarding two Greene County suspects who were recently charged with possessing child pornography in separate and unrelated incidents.
Carmichaels man charged with child pornography
A Carmichaels man is being held at the Greene County Prison after failing to post bond on child pornography charges.
Matthew Wayne McIntire, 30, faces 10 felony charges, including three counts of disseminating photos or videos of children involved in sex acts, six counts of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communications facility.
The charges against McIntire were filed by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Bureau of Special Investigations, Child Predator Section.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Louis Dayich of Waynesburg. Dayich set bond for McIntire at $50,000 straight cash.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed with the charges, between Aug. 27 and Sept. 1, McIntire allegedly shared three computer files depicting children in sexual situations. In addition, he viewed six such files.
According to the affidavit filed by the investigating officer, the three video files involved girls who appear to be between the ages of 6 and 12 years old, either nude or partially nude. Two of the videos show the girls involved in various sexual acts with adult males.
Agents from the state Attorney General’s office and the Cumberland Township police department served a warrant at McIntire’s home on Sept. 24. McIntire confirmed that he lived at the house along with his parents and that he was the only person who used the computer in his basement bedroom. McIntire also admitted to searching for, downloading and viewing child pornography through a file-sharing program.
McIntire also told investigators that he has had a problem for a number of years, but that he deletes both the files and the sharing program after the downloads to prevent getting into trouble. Agents found file wiping software on the computer and indications that the computer had been wiped earlier the morning of the search. A thumb drive found at the house did contain 60 suspected pornographic images.
Waynesburg man charged with possessing child pornography
The preliminary hearing for a Waynesburg man who was recently charged with possessing child pornography has been scheduled for Nov. 17.
State police allege that Samuel Chip Barclay, 23, downloaded multiple photos and videos of child pornography.
The criminal complaint said the files were allegedly downloaded on Sept. 24, 2013 from an undercover agent serving with the Southwest Computer Crime Task Force. Police executed the search of Barclay’s personal computers Dec. 11.
Police say during the search, they discovered several videos of suspected child pornography. Among these, police said, there were videos of young girls removing their clothes in front of web cams as well as an anime (cartoon) video of a young girl engaging in sex acts with an adult.
Barclay is charged with two counts of disseminating photo/film of child sex acts, two counts of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility. Barclay’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 17 before Magisterial District Judge Lou Dayich. He is free on $25,000 unsecured bond.
