Burglary reported

State police are investigating a burglary on Oct. 19 at MEC Construction on Mount Morris Road in Franklin Twp. Police said forced down the business’s front door and removed thousands of dollars in tools, construction equipment, sockets, wrenches, tampers and gallons of gasoline.

Identity theft

Southwest Regional Police said a 34-year-old resident, name not provided, of Perry Twp. reported that someone used his identity to open an account with Dish Network. Police said the thief accumulated more than $2,000 in unpaid services. Anyone with information in the matter is asked to contact police at 724-929-8484.

Theft reported

State police said sometime between Oct. 24-25 someone stole a blue kerosene can from Melvin Dulaney’s property on Windy Gap Road in New Freeport.

Vehicle burglarized

State police said Howard Brunell of Waynesburg reported that someone removed a GPS, cash and sunglasses from his vehicle sometime between 1:30 and 5 p.m. Oct. 17 while it was parked on Sherman Avenue in Franklin Twp.

Rifle stolen

Dan Teagarden of Jefferson reported that someone took his rifle sometime between Aug. 23 and Oct. 23 from his residence on Fourth Street in Morgan Twp., state police said.

Copper stolen

Consol reported that someone cut and removed copper wire sometime between 8 p.m. Oct. 22 and 4:30 p.m. Oct. 23 from the company’s facility on River Road in Rices Landing Borough, state police said.

Crash reported

State police said Greg Spears, 59, of Perry, Ohio, was not injured when his International Harvester crashed into a guardrail and bridge abutment at 12:15 p.m. Oct. 9 on Greene Valley Road in Washington Twp.

Theft reported

Terry Cole of Wayne Twp. reported to Southwest Regional Police that sometime within the past month someone removed two tree stands valued at $400 from his property along Hoovers Run Road in Holbrook. Anyone with information in the matter is asked to contact police at 724-929-8484.

Crash reported

Southwest Regional Police said Timothy Irvine, 30, of Wheeling, W.Va. was traveling on W.W. Railroad Road in Morris Twp. at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 21 when when he struck a guide rail along the roadway. Irvine did not suffer any injuries in the crash, police said.

Woman cited

Southwest Regional Police said Kristy Jo Martin, 30, of Waynesburg was cited for cruelty to animals after police were dispatched on Oct. 14 to a location on Big Shannon Road in Perry Twp. and found two dogs left abandoned at a home. Citations were filed with Magisterial District Judge Lou Dayich.
