Snyder: Local offices to accept winter clothing donations

2 min read

State Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Jefferson, said her constituent service offices are launching their second annual winter clothes drive to benefit area families.

“My offices in Carmichaels, Waynesburg and near Brownsville will be accepting new and gently used coats, gloves, mittens, scarves, hats and boots,” Snyder said. “All items collected will be distributed locally through the Waynesburg Salvation Army, the Masontown Helping Hands Ministry and Crosskeys Human Services of Brownsville.”

Snyder said the Carmichaels office at 104 S. Market St. and the Waynesburg office at 93 E. High St. will accept donations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

The Brownsville satellite office at 113 Thornton Road, Redstone Township, will collect winter garments from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays.

“Last year’s clothing drive reaped scores of winter coats for area families, and we wanted to expand it to include winter clothing of all types,” Snyder said. “My staff and I are looking forward to this year’s drive, having learned immeasurably last year about the great need in the area and the many generous residents eager to help those in need.”

The clothing drive will conclude Friday, Nov. 21, at all three district offices.

More information is available by calling the main office in Carmichaels at 724-966-8953.
