Woman sentenced for selling heroin
A Waynesburg woman was sentenced to five years of intermediate punishment, and 92 days in a rehabilitation facility for selling heroin out of a Greene County store.
Devon R. Garrett, 25, was selling the drug from the AT&T Store in the Greene Plaza in Franklin Township, police said.
After receiving tip about what was occurring, police watched a woman go into the store, talk briefly with Garrett and then walk out of the store.
The woman told police she bought two stamp bags of heroin from Garrett.
Another woman told police she purchased heroin from Garrett at the store five times, and that Garrett offered different types of heroin for sale.
Police obtained a search warrant for the store, and on April 8, 2013, found Garrett in possession of 142 stamp bags of heroin, packaged for sale, according to court records.
She pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia in January, and was sentenced in Greene County Court on Aug. 29.
As part of her sentence, Garrett must also complete 225 hours of community service.
