Robert D. Peteritis
Robert D. Peteritis, 81, of Clarksville, died Saturday, September 20, 2014, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born February 2, 1933, in Jefferson Township, a son of the late Peter and Anna Javorski Peteritis.
Mr. Peteritis served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a steelworker at the former USX Clairton Works and was a member of United Steelworkers of America.
He was also a member of Clarksville Missionary Church and American Legion Post 816, Rices Landing.
On July 10, 1965, he married Arlene Royce, who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Allison DeBoe and her husband, Mark, of Clarksville and Michael J. Peteritis Sr. and his wife, Kerri, of Mather; three grandchildren, Tiffany DeBoe and her fiancé, Scooter Adams, Krista Peteritis and Michael J. Peteritis Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Drew and Zakary Adams; and two brothers, Thomas Peteritis of Painesville, Ohio, and Joseph Peteritis of Scranton.
Deceased are four brothers, including his twin brother, Raymond, Stanley, William and John Peteritis, and four sisters, Mary Gibson, Dorothy Bowlen, Anna May Smith and Helen Cramer.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, with the Rev. Carl Leipold and Father Stan DeBoe officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 954, Jefferson, and the U.S. Navy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Bob’s Battle, in the care of Community Bank, 100 North Market Street, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
