Brownsville girls, Waynesburg boys sweep meet
The Brownsville girls and Waynesburg Central boys remained undefeated in Section 6-AA action with a sweep Tuesday afternoon of a triangular at Waynesburg Central.
The Lady Falcons defeated the Lady Raiders, 87-63, and Lady Trojans, 99-33, while the Waynesburg boys beat Brownsville, 113½-36½, and California, 91-59.
The Trojans defeated Brownsville, 81-57, and the Lady Raiders downed California, 84-65.
The Seto sisters led the way for Brownsville with Maris winning all three jumps (high jump, 4-10; long jump, 17-4; triple jump, 35-9) and the 200 (27.87) and Alie taking the discus (93-1).
Brownsville’s Shawnie Kudos shared first place in the shot put (28-3) with the Lady Raiders’ Abby Gibbons.
Jenna Shumar won the 100 high hurdles (17.37) and 300 intermediate hurdles (53.05). Kyonte Martin took first in the 100 (13.49) and Mackenzie Swords won the 400 (1:08.5)
Waynesburg’s Lindsee Zimmer won the 1,600 (5:51), 800 (2:42), and 3,200 (13:03). Kimberly Rishell took first in the pole vault (6-0).
The Raiders had first-place finishes against Brownsville by Nick Siordia (110 high hurdles, 18.20), Ben Bumgarner (1,600, 4:48; 3,200, 11:03), Cameron McIe (400, 57.62), William Behm (300 intermediate hurdles, 50.11), Hunter Cenname (long jump, 18-8; triple jump, 39-2), Sam Augustine (javelin, 127-5; discus, 108-8), Mitch Warman (shot put, 43-11), and Cody Weimer (pole vault, 8-0).
Byron Mayers won the 100 (11.18) and 200 (23.08), and Keyshawn Gregory took first in the high jump (5-4) against the Raiders.
The Trojans’ Dakota Renner defeated all runners in the 110 high hurdles (17.71), as did James Campbell in the 300 intermediate hurdles (43.58).
Tray Matthews edge Cenname for first in the long jump (18-11).
