THEATER PERFORMANCE – Waynesburg Central High School’s drama club will present “Bye Bye Birdie” April 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. each night, and on April 12 at 2 p.m. at the high school auditorium. Tickets will be available at the door or can be purchased in advance at McCracken Pharmacy, Radio Shack and The Fashion Shoppe.

SQUARE DANCE – A square dance (also line dancing, polkas, cake walk and more) will be held on Friday, April 10 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Rogersville Fire Hall. Caller will be Dave Dahl. TURKEY DINNER – The Hewiit Presbyterian Church will be having its annual turkey dinner on Saturday, April 11. Takeouts will begin at 3 p.m. and deliveries will also be between 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The church will serve from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the social hall. The cost is $9 for adults, $4 for children 3-12 years old and free for children under the age of three. The dinner includes turkey, dressing, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, rolls, choice of pie or cake and hot/cold beverages. GARDENING SEMINAR – A Spring Gardening Seminar, sponsored by Greene County Master Gardeners, will be held at the Greene County Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Register by calling Penn State Extension Office at 724-627-3745. Cost is $14. Topics will include community supported agriculture, herbal therapies and interactions with medications, how to stay healthy while gardening, and worm composting. There will be door prizes, vendors, free gardening magazines, a soil tests sale and refreshments.

AUTHOR TO SPEAK – The Bowlby Library Book Club will welcome local author and Pastor John Dorean to the library on Monday, April 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Dorean will be speaking on his latest published work, “Justice in Greene.” The public is invited to attend this special session of the Book Club; copies of his book will also be available for purchase. GARDENING PROGRAM – The Eva K. Bowlby Public Library is offering “Gardening on a Budget” on Wednesday, April 15, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. One of the Greene County Master Gardeners will be at the library leading this session on informative ways to save money, yet have a thriving and productive garden. POETRY READING – The Bowlby Public Library will host a Poetry Reading and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 16 at 5:30 p.m. Join the library for an evening of poetry; winners will also be announced from the library’s Poetry Contest (held in March), and participants are invited to read their original work. Light refreshments will be served.

MANURE WORKSHOPS – Manure management workshops will be held on Thursday, April 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Monday, April 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Did you know that all farms generating/using manure must now have a manure management plan? BULL RIDING – The 14th annual Buckin’ B Cattle Championship Bull Riding Competitions will be held at the Greene County Fairgrounds Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18. Come and see top professional bull riders compete to qualify for the SEBRA National Finals. Brought to you by Buckin’ B Cattle Co (the 7X SEBRA Producer of the Year). HAMMER-IN – The annual Hammer-In will be held on Saturday, April 18 at the W.A. Young Foundry and Machine Shop in Rices Landing. This unique event, beginning at 9 a.m., brings blacksmiths together for a day of demonstrations. Also available will be tours of the foundry and an auction, which will start at 1 p.m. The public is welcome. Lunch will be available, and admission is free. All proceeds benefit the W.A. DINNER SHOW – Waynesburg Senior Center is hosting a spaghetti dinner show and entertainment by Classic Music on April 18, at the East Franklin Grange. Advance tickets are $10 and at the door $12. Tickets are limited. Dinner is spaghetti, salad, roll, dessert and drink, and will be served at 5:30 p.m. Doors open at 5p.m., the show starts at 6:30 p.m. Entertainers are Dave Clark, Butch Tavoletti, Mark Davis, Bob Podish and Eulah Mae Mcgillicutty. QUARTER AUCTION – The Greene County Library System is hosting a “Quarter Auction” at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 at the Greene County Fairgrounds 4-H Building. Auction begins at 7 p.m. ($3 for one paddle or $5 for 3 paddles). Bids are 1 to 4 quarters; bring lost of quarters. Proceeds will go to both the Flenniken Library in Carmichaels and the Bowlby Library in Waynesburg.

WILDFLOWER WALK – The Enlow Fork Wildflower Walk will take place on Sunday, April 26, starting at Enlow Fork of Wheeling Creek. The event, sponsored by the Wheeling Creek Watershed Conservancy, offers a unique opportunity to view an impressive array of plants and wildlife.
