WCCC Greene County Center to hold nursing information session

Westmoreland County Community College will hold an information session for individuals interested in preparing for nursing careers, Thursday, April 23 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Greene County Education Center.

The session will provide information on WCCC’s nursing program conducted at the Greene Center.

Participants will meet the nursing program faculty, interact with the high fidelity human simulators used for practical skills training and tour the Nursing Learning Resource Center. Information will also be provided on the application process for the nursing program.

The session will also include information on the college’s advanced placement option for licensed practical nurses.

This option gives advanced standing to LPNs allowing qualified candidates to enter Level II of the associate degree nursing program and complete the associate degree nursing curriculum in two semesters.

WCCC is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

The Associate Degree Nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing which represents achievement of quality and excellence in nursing education.

The Greene County Center, located in EverGreene Technology Park in Franklin Township, offers day/weekend classes in career preparation and associate to bachelor’s degree transfer programs.
