Louis J. DeMola
Louis J. DeMola, 96 of Morgantown, West Virginia, formerly of Dilliner, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
He was born February 25, 1919 in Poland Mines, Pennsylvania, son of Andy and Lucy Rich DeMola.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nita Williams DeMola on February 6, 2000 and his sister Lena Lako.
Louis enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1941 and served his country for 4 years during WW II. He was honorably discharged as T-Sgt. from the 234th AAF Base Unit.
During his military service he met his wife, Nita, while stationed in Clovis, New Mexico. They were married in 1947 and were married for 53 years.
Prior to his retirement in 1989, he was the Director of the Housing Authority of Greene County, Pennsylvania for 25 years. Louis was a member of Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church of Morgantown and a former member of Holy Family Roman Catholic church of Greensboro.
He is survived by five children: Deborah Ross and Rene Janco, both of Waynesburg, Jude DeMola of Walpole, Massachusetts, Brenda Rubio of Morgantown, and Lou DeMola of Marriotsville, Maryland; three grandchildren: Samantha Janco, Joseph Rubio, and Jack DeMola, and his sister Nancy Wamsley.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 3334 University Ave., Morgantown, on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. John V. Di Bacco, Jr. as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park of Point Marion. Military rites will be accorded at graveside by the Point Marion Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 747 and American Legion Post 499. Funeral services are under the direction of the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, Thomas B. Rudolph, Funeral Director & Supervisor, Point Marion, 724-725-5256.
