Rohanna has top-25 finish in Milwaukee

By Jim Downey, For The Greene County Messenger 2 min read

Rachel Rohanna birdied two of her final four holes Sunday for a 1-over 73 in the final round to finish tied for 22nd place at the PHC Classic in Milwaukee, Wisc.

The Waynesburg Central graduate had a three-day total of 5-over 221 for earnings of $1,012.

Annie Park needed three extra holes on Brown Deer Park Golf Course to defeat Lee Lopez for the title and the top prize of $15,000.

Rohanna had a birdie, bogey and seven pars on the front nine to go out in even-par 36.

The back nine was about the same with three bogeys and two birdies for a 1-over 37.

“I played pretty good today. There was a pretty bad wind. It was blowing consistently between 20-25 mph with gusts around 40 mph,” said Rohanna. “The wind was swirling. It was tough out there for everybody.

“The greens were firm and rolling quick.”

Rohanna needed 31 putts to get through her final round. She hit 13-of-18 greens in regulation and just 6-of-13 fairways.

After missing the cut last week, it was good to be back in the money.

“There were a whole bunch of orange numbers (for being on the tour money list leaders) tied at 22,” said Rohanna. “That ($1,012) should keep me in the top 10.”

The tour takes a week off before returning for the W.B. Mason Championship in Brockton, Mass.

Rohanna won’t take the entire week off, though, because she is playing in a pro-am event this week in Harrisburg.
