12-year-old boy dies in Franklin Twp. UTV accident

A 12-year-old male died in a utility task vehicle (UTV) side-by-side crash on Mount Morris Road in Franklin Township in Greene County around 8 p.m. Saturday, the Greene County Coroner’s Office said.

Marrius Duncan, 12, of Adrian, Pa. died as a result of the crash, the coroner’s office said. According to the coroner’s office, Duncan was brought from the scene into Washington Health System Greene Emergency Room, where he was pronounced dead at 9:46 p.m.

The coroner’s office said the incident occurred at the home of Tracy Russell on Mount Morris Road.

According to police, four others were involved in the crash, including a known female driver, a 17-year-old male, a 7-year-old male and an 11-year-old female. Police did not release details of any injuries among the other passengers or operator but did report that the vehicle involved was a green Yamaha Viking UTV.

Police added the fatal victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, as was the 7-year-old male and 11-year-old female. The crash occurred on private property, police said, adding that the investigation into the crash continues.
