FAMILY REUNION – The annual reunion for the family members of Frank and Jennie Throckmorton Breese will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22 starting at 12 p.m. at the Richhill Twp. Park in Wind Ridge. FRONTIER FESTIVAL – The annual Mason-Dixon Frontier Festival will be held Aug. 22-23 from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. Free admission. Crafts, music, raffles, pre-1840 living history encampment, tractor and car parade, antique engines and cars, Civil War re-enactments and more. Shuttle service will be available. Take 1-79 to exit 1, Mt. Morris, to Creek Rd. 1/2-mile to Mason-Dixon Park in Pa. AVIATION DAY – Aviation Day will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Greene County Airport. There will be free airplane rides for kids 8-17, as long as they have written consent from a parent or guardian. There will be tons of food, static displays and Bi-plane rides, $5 per vehicle. COAL SHOW – The 62nd Annual Bituminous Coal Show will be held Aug. 22-29 in Carmichaels. This week-long celebration honors King Coal and our regional coal heritage. Numerous events and activities will be held. For more info, visit www.kingcoalshow.org.

FLASHLIGHT DRAGS – Flashlight Drags will be held on Aug. 30 at the Greene County Airport. Gate opens at noon, and racing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Admission is $30 to race and $6 to watch. YARD SALE – The annual Town-Wide Yard Sale in Rogersville will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5 beginning at 8 a.m. The Center Twp. VFD Auxiliary will sell food and drinks beginning at 9 a.m. Table space available in fire hall parking lot, $5 per table. The Auxiliary will accept donations of “sellable” items. HERITAGE FESTIVAL – The fifth annual Outdoor Heritage Festival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Ryerson Station State Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities will include camping, fishing, modern and traditional archery demonstrations and and more. 50s FEST – The 14th annual 50’s Fest and Car Cruise will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 in downtown Waynesburg. Come and check out over 300 hot rods, trucks and motorcycles. Step back in time while you enjoy 50’s food, music, activities and competitions. BRIDGE FESTIVAL – The 45th annual Covered Bridge Festival will be held on Sept. 19 and 20 in Carmichaels and Garards Fort. Check out these picturesque covered bridges at two locations in Greene County – the White Covered Bridge in Garards Fort and the Carmichaels Covered Bridge in Carmichaels. Crafters, Civil War re-enactments, music and home cooking are just some of the attractions at these two festivals.

ALPACA FARM DAYS – The National Alpaca Farm Days/Open House will be held at Lippencott Alpacas in Waynesburg Sept. 26 and 27. Alpaca seminars, hand-spinning demonstrations and a variety of vendors including Thistlethwaite Vineyards will be on site. Children’s activities and hay rides will be available. Field parking and handicap accessible. The event will happen rain or shine. The farm is located at 265 Meadowbrook Road (Waynesburg) near the village of Lippencott. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. each day.
