Mildred Irene Menhart
Mildred Irene Menhart, age 89, of Crucible, died November 29, 2015.
Mrs. Menhart was born January 3, 1926 in Ralph, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Dora Kmetz Polander.
On July 28, 1943, Irene married John (Minnie) Menhart who died July 7, 2004.
Mrs. Menhart is survived by her beloved daughter, Victoria L. Menhart, of Crucible; a sister, Dolores Menhart, Carmichaels and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Pauline Russo, and six brothers, William, Robert, Jimmy, Albert, Frank, and John Polander.
Mrs. Menhart worked for many years as a garment worker at the former Greeneway Manufacturing Co., Waynesburg.
Irene was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church of Crucible. She was a member of the Rosary Society and Christian Mothers of the Church, and the Crucible Ladies Aid Group.
Irene enjoyed sitting on the front porch of her home in the warm months visiting with her neighbors, and her best friend, Janet Kline.
She and her family appreciated the kindness and care of Amedysis Hospice, and her special caregiver, Karen.
Family and friends will be received in the Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director/Supervisor, on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 9 to 11 a.m. A Prayer Service will be held at 11:05 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend John M. Bauer, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Crucible.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, or Amedysis Hospice.
