John A. Conklin, age 94, of Sycamore, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 in Golden Living Center in Waynesburg.

He was born May 16, 1921 in Sycamore a son of the late John A. and Goldie Daily Conklin.

On May 20, 1948 he married Wanda Moore Conklin, who died November 28, 2001.

Mr. Conklin was a retired truck driver for W.P.L.E. in Waynesburg and Dillie Trucking in Washington. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Mr. Conklin was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U. S. Army in the European Theatre. He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 589 in Waynesburg. He operated a farm near Sycamore and was an excellent mechanic.

Surviving are a sister-in-law Marjorie Lee Teagarden of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a sister Margaret “Margie” Beaver; and a half-brother, Robert Conklin.

Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., the hour of services on Thursday, December 3, 2015 in the Behm Funeral Home, 182 West High St., Waynesburg with Rev. Scott Chambers officiating, followed by private entombment in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
