Pat Alexander
Pat Alexander, 92, of Masontown, died at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Golden Living Center, Uniontown.
He was born October 9, 1923 in Cokeburg, Pa., a son of the late Pasquale, Diomira (Vizioli) and Gesilia “Jessie” (Valente) Alessandrini.
Mr. Alexander attended Ellsworth schools and resided in Masontown all of his married life. He served with the U. S. Army in the European theater during World War II as a squad leader. Mr. Alexander owned and operated Pat’s Motor Parts and P & B Wholesale Supply in Masontown for over 40 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a charter member, past commander and finance officer of American Legion Post 423, a member of Faith Gray McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584 and the Italio-American Club, all in Masontown.
Mr. Alexander was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
On November 8, 1947, he married Dolores Battaglini, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Pat “Biff” Alexander and his wife, Linda, of Masontown; three grandchildren, Todd T. Alexander and his wife, Andria, of Montgomery, Alabama, Anna T. Alexander and Biff S. Alexander, both of York; two brothers, Alfred Alexander and his wife, Rita, of Virginia and John Alexander of Point Marion; a sister, Diane Alexander Alcorn of Uniontown and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a grandson, Neil D. Alexander; three brothers, Joseph Alexander, Adolph Alexander and George Alexander and a sister, Angelina Amminiti.
There will be no public viewing or memorial service and arrangements are under the direction of the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, One Children’s Hospital Drive, Central Plant, Floor 3, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
