Many local hunters headed into Greene County woods during the first few days of the 2015 deer rifle season. As of press time, no reports of any hunting-related accidents or injuries were reported by local law enforcement agencies or the county’s emergency management agency. Statewide, roughly 750,000 hunters with rifles were expected to enter state woods to pursue white-tailed deer during the first day of the season, which was Monday, according to the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The two-week deer rifle season will conclude on Saturday, Dec. 12.
