Miss Rain Day kicks off Toys for Tots campaign
Claire Kreider, Miss Rain Day 2015, has teamed up with Tri-County Leathernecks, In Motion Dance & Fitness and other local businesses to collect new, unwrapped toys for distribution to children in Greene County.
“The Tri-County Leathernecks have been providing this much needed service to the children of Greene County for over 30 years,” said Emilia Bertugli, president of Rain Day Scholarship, Inc. “We are pleased Claire has chosen to assist with the program as one of her many service projects.”
“We are happy to support Miss Rain Day in yet another of her service projects since being crowned MRD 2015,” said Dolly Goodwin Throckmorton, owner of In Motion Dance + Fitness. “We (In Motion Dance + Fitness) will be a Toys for Tots collection site this holiday season. Claire works very hard not only inside but outside of the dance studio as well. We are proud to have Claire as a student and happy to help her this holiday season with the wonderful Toys for Tots program. Please show your support for the children who need something special this Christmas.”
“I have always enjoyed the giving of the holiday seasons,” Kreider said. “That’s why this year as one of my service projects I’m participating in the 2015 Toys for Tots drive sponsored by the Tri-County Leathernecks and the U.S. Marine Corps.
“Christmas is such a magical time of year that should be spent with friends and family, and although the holiday season isn’t about gifts, it is about giving,” she added. “That’s why I think that each child should have a gift under the tree for Christmas.”
Everyone is encouraged to join Miss Rain Day Claire Kreider in celebrating the joy that it is Christmas. New, unwrapped toys for both boys and girls will be collected through Dec. 18 and can be dropped off at In Motion Dance + Fitness, located at 48 West High St. in Waynesburg.
Other drop-off locations include Eva K. Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg, A.N.other Beauty Shoppe in Mount Morris and Community Bank at two Waynesburg locations, 100 Miller Lane and 30 West Greene St.
