Elmer E. Thorne
Elmer E. Thorne, age 77, of Connellsville died Sunday, December 6, 2015, in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born on Monday, November 7, 1938 in Carmichaels, a son of Charles F. Thorne and Myrtle F. (Rogers) Thorne.
Mr. Thorne was formerly employed at the Nemacolin Coal Mine. He was also a self- employed refuse owner.
He was a member of the Mount Tabor Church of God and the Baptist Church of Carmichaels.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Helen Catherine (Whetsel) Thorne; and three brothers, Marion Thorne, Edward Thorne and Clyde ‘John’ Thorne.
He is survived by his children, David Grimm and his wife Brenda of Connellsville, Linda Thorne Tissue and her husband Ralph C. of Normalville, Michael R. Thorne and his wife Debbie of Connellsville; his grandchildren, David and his wife Lora Grimm, Carrie and her husband Ed Swank, Shawn Grimm, Amy L. Prinkey, Brian and wife Rose Prinkey, Kelly and husband Thomas DeWitt, Jr., Derek Prinkey, Lloyd Shroyer III and his wife Brittany, Jessica and George Smith, Michael and Jennifer Thorne and Travis, and Brittney Thorne; great grandchildren, Brock, Kayla and Kendra Swank, Madison, Braydon and Jaydon Grimm, Dalton Prinkey, Zack Shultz, Thomas III, Dakota, Bella and Bentley DeWitt, Derek Prinkey Jr., Grace and Garette Shroyer, Zaydon and Jasmine Smith, Chase and Alex Thorne, Connie and Ashley Prinkey; and one brother, Leroy Everette Thorne.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green St., Connellsville, Pa., where Services will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Keith Solomon officiating. Interment will follow in the Normalville Cemetery.
