Donley Wilbert McCormick
Donley Wilbert McCormick, 60, of Mt. Morris, died at 10:35 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2015, at home. He had been in his usual health and death was due to an apparent heart attack.
He was born Saturday, July 9, 1955 in Mt. Morris, a son of the late Donley W.”Tom” McCormick and Sadie Myers McCormick.
Mr. McCormick was a Veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member and Past President of the Mt. Morris Sportsman’s Club. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He worked for H&W Exxon in Mt. Morris as a mechanic for several years and later worked as a taxi driver for Yellow Cab Co. in Morgantown, West Virginia.
He is survived by his wife, Asha Poling McCormick, whom he married on February 14, 1992.
Surviving are three daughters, Melissa (Bryan) Samples, of Westover, West Virginia, Jennifer (Tommy) Brown, of Mt. Morris and Kyllee Calvert, of Lynwood, California; two sons, Donnie McCormick, of Morgantown and Jason McCormick, of Beckley, West Virginia; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family.
Deceased is one brother, Robert McCormick.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. the time of the service Friday, December 11, 2015 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, Mount Morris, with Rev. Jacob Judy officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
