Carmelina Ida Riffle
Carmelina Ida Riffle, 80, formerly of Greensboro, died at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Golden LivingCenter, Waynesburg.
She was born November 16, 1935 in Meadowlands, Washington County, a daughter of the late Louis and Julia (Zipko) Kobuchi.
Mrs. Riffle was a 1953 graduate of Chartiers Houston High School and received her teaching degree from California University. While residing in Silver Spring, Marylandd, she worked as a reservation agent for United Airlines until her retirement. Mrs. Riffle was a member of the St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish in Greensboro and a former member of the Nathanael Greene Historical Foundation in Greensboro. She enjoyed quilting.
Surviving are three sons, Michael Riffle and his wife, Jennifer, of Granite Bay, California, Kenneth Riffle and his wife, Tricia, of Memphis, Tennessee and Marc Riffle of Bethesda, Marylandd; 10 grandchildren, Courtney Riffle, Christopher Riffle, Maci Riffle, William Riffle, Katie Riffle, Elizabeth Riffle, Louis Riffle, Robert Riffle, Manuel Combronero and Gabriella Miller, whom she raised and was her caretaker; a brother, John Kobuchi and his wife, Jean, of Virginia; a sister, Lydia Kent, of Georgia and the father of her children, Charles H. Riffle and his wife, Carn, of Bloomfield, Michigan.
Deceased are a son Robert H. Riffle; a daughter, Valerie Lynn Riffle and a brother, Louis Kobuchi.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2015, followed at 11:00 a.m. by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
