Mary Kathryn Gwynn Hair Balyeat, age 83, of Carmichaels, died Monday, December 14, 2015 in Laskosky’s Personal Care Home in Clarksville.

She was born January 4, 1932 in Waynesburg a daughter of the late Howard W. and Lana Rich Gwynn.

In 1950 she graduated from Cumberland Township High School. She continued her education at the University of Pittsburgh, and in 1955 graduated from Carnegie Tech (Carnegie Mellon University).

Mrs. Balyeat worked in the mobile home industry for many years for Rayfield Rich. She was later the co-owner of Mobile Fashion Homes in Carmichaels, and last worked for J.C. Solomon Homes in Morgantown, West Virginia.

She was a long time member of the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church, and later the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels.

Surviving are two sons, Howard D. (Dianne) Hair and John E. (Patricia) Hair both of Carmichaels; a step-daughter, Joan (Ron) Courtney of Fishers, Indiana; five grandchildren, Angela, Jessica, John Jr., Jennifer, and Jacob Hair; four step-grandchildren, Danielle, Lauren, Joshua and Caleb Courtney; and her life-long friend, Dorothy Provinson of Largo, Florida.

Deceased are her first husband, Daniel G. Hair; her second husband, Louis F. Balyeat; and a daughter Lana Lynn Hair.

Friends will be received 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015 with Rev. Tim Lindsay officiating followed by burial in Muddy Creek Cemetery.
