Clarksville Lions Club names December student of the month
CLARKSVILLE — Janessa Willis, a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School, was selected as the Clarksville Lions Club student of the month for December.
Willis, daughter of Stephanie Policz and Martin Willis of Clarksville, maintains a 3.1 grade-point average.
Willis is a three-year letterman in cheerleading, a three-year member of foreign language club, a four-year member of drama club, and a two-year member of Interact Club.
As a three-year member of Leo club, Willis has rung bells for Salvation Army, completed courtyard cleanup and participated in roadside cleanup for the Keep America Beautiful campaign. She volunteers for the food bank at Jefferson Baptist, supports the Catholic Charities Angel Tree Program and volunteers for projects associated with Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Willis is co-editor of The Rocket Reporter, the online student newspaper of Jefferson-Morgan. She has served as editor and contributor for the newspaper for four years.
She is a member of First Assembly of God in Waynesburg. She participates in Fine Arts through choir and participation in human video and skits.
In the fall, Willis plans to attend Laurel Business Institute for healthcare office administration.
