Samuel R. Calabris, Jr.

Samuel R. Calabris, Jr, 86, of Carmichaels, died at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.
He was born May 14, 1929 in Dunkard Township, Greene County, a son of Samuel R. and Mary (Blout) Calabris.
Mr. Calabris was a 1942 graduate of Mapletown High School and attended Waynesburg College. He resided in the Greensboro and Carmichaels areas all of his life. He served with the U. S. Army and worked as a sales manager for American General Life and Accident Insurance Company at the Uniontown office until his retirement in 1988.
Mr. Calabris enjoyed spending time with his son, Sam, at Sam’s Auto in Carmichaels where one could find him at all hours of the day. He was a partner at the former Sam and Bill’s in Carmichaels for five years before opening Sam’s Takeout. Mr. Calabris was an avid golfer and cherished his cat, Macy.
His wife, Lois L. “Babe” (Wiltrout) Calabris, died October 4, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Samuel R. Calabris, III and his wife, Cathy, of Morgantown, West Virginia; two grandchildren, Carly Celli and Nicholas Celli, both of Meadville; a sister, Joan Baloh and her husband, John, of McClellantown and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sisters, Esther Flynn and Marie Stewart.
There will be no public viewing or memorial service and arrangements are entrusted to the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Rd, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
