Lions Club selects December students of the month
WAYNESBURG — Brooke Horton and Jacob Tretinik, seniors at Waynesburg Central High School, were selected by the high school faculty as Waynesburg Lions Club Students of the Month for December.
Horton, daughter of Tina and Paul Kreuzer and Paul Horton, maintains a 4.0 grade-point average.
She is a member of Alpha, National Honor Society, Leo club, SADD, chorus, jazz choir, debate team, Academic League and is treasurer of the senior class.
Horton has performed in numerous musical productions at school and for three years, she has received the Academic Excellence Award. She also has received the Gold Seal Award for completing more than 100 hours of community service.
Horton plans to attend college and study biology and after graduation, she hopes to attend medical school and specialize in endocrinology.
Tretinik, son of Paul and Shauna Tretinik, maintains a 4.0 grade-point average.
He is a member of the National Honor Society, Academic League, jazz choir, principal’s council, student council, editor of the yearbook, varsity club, Italian club, Penn Serve, construction club, TV workshop, ski club, young voters club and is secretary of the senior class.
Tretinik is a four-year letterman in football and also participates in track.
He plans to attend a four-year college or university and pursue a degree in the medical field while continuing to play football.
