Annabelle Rankin Pratt
Annabelle Rankin Pratt, age 91, of Stringtown, Carmichaels died December 25, 2015 in Rolling Meadows Nursing Care, Waynesburg.
Mrs. Pratt was born August 15, 1924 in Palmer, Fayette County, the daughter of the late John and Nora Guesman Rankin.
On September 13, 1941, Annabelle married Robert E. Pratt who died April 10, 2002.
Mrs. Pratt is survived by five children, John L. (Jack) Pratt and wife Betty of Carmichaels, Robert (Pete) Pratt and wife Alta of Crucible, Ann Blair of Wind Ridge, Joyce Denise Krcelich and husband Joseph of Carmichaels, Jeffrey Linn Pratt and wife Lori of Carmichaels; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are two brothers, Ed and Raymond Rankin; two sisters, Betty Lindsey and Dorothy who died in infancy and a son-in-law, Larry Blair.
Mrs. Pratt operated a beauty shop and a boarding home in Carmichaels for many years. She was an excellent pie and cookie baker, and baked over 3500 pies over the years for the Carmichaels Volunteer Fire Department and Chamber of Commerce for the King Coal Show.
She was a beloved member of the Carmichaels Community who everyone knew simply as Annabelle. She was a devoted mother to her family and caregiver to her boarding home family.
Mrs. Pratt was a member of the First Methodist Church, of Carmichaels.
Family and friends were received in the Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director/Supervisor, on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. A Funeral Service behan at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Everly, officiating. Burial followed in Laurel Point Cemetery in Carmichaels.
