William (Bill) F. Carmichael, age 59, of Spraggs, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015, in his home after a battle with cancer.

Bill was born on July 24, 1955, in Clay County, Orange Park, Florida, the son of the late Phillips W. Carmichael, Sr. and Lillian (Lillie) S. Adamson Carmichael of Spraggs.

He was a Baptist and in Florida he attended Russell Baptist Church of Green Cove Springs. William worked for many years at Simmons Mattress Company of Jacksonville, Florida, and later as a mechanic in Jacksonville. He moved to Spraggs in 2010 and worked for Zone Gas Sevice of Carmichaels until his illness.

William married Rita Phonex in February 1974. In 1984 he married Michelle David.

Surviving are five daughters, Rena (Shawn) Cooper of Chesapeake, Virginia, Rebecca Ann Miller of Beaver, Kristy (Doren) Huebeck, Karen Carmichael and Katie Carmichael of Jacksonville Florida. Also surviving are his mother; one brother, Phillip (Buck) Carmichael, Jr. of Spraggs; four sisters, Lola Hill of Spraggs, Pamela Fozzia of Del Rio, Tennessee, Cynthia Carmichael of Waynesburg and Linda (Kenneth) Crundwell of Wind Ridge; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

His wife Michelle passed away on June 24, 2014.

There will be a memorial service at a later date in Penney Farm, Florida.
