Marjorie L. Walls
Marjorie L. Walls, age 82 of Waynesburg passed away, Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, surrounded by her family.
She was born May 12, 1932, in Brock, a daughter of the late Gernie and Faye Brock Kiger.
On April 24, 1948, she married Dale Walls and together they enjoyed spending time with their family, working and square dancing. Dale passed away August 1, 2007.
She resided most of her life in Whiteley Township where she was an active member of the Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church and later Whiteley Creek Community Church.
Marge valued her family above all and devoted herself to creating a welcoming home where her family gathered to enjoy her cooking and baking talents. Without a doubt, Marge was happiest when surrounded by her great-grandchildren, grandchildren and children.
She graduated from Uniontown Beauty Academy in 1967. At that time, she opened and operated Walls Beauty Shop where she truly delighted in serving her patrons, who became a second family to her. Marge was an excellent listener. She retired after 30 years in the hair care business but continued to keep very busy, baking cakes for the Waynesburg Airport Restaurant and continuing her active role in the church choir and lawn festivals. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. Marge’s thoughtfulness, compassion, sense of humor and love of life will be missed by all; she touched many, many lives.
Surviving are four children, Trudy and husband Douglas Montgomery of Waynesburg, Teresa Jones of Carmichaels, Douglas and wife Debbie Walls of Waynesburg and Tracy and husband John Carte of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Natalie and husband Ralph Wilson, Meghaan and husband Ryan Hampton, Alyssa Walls, Benjamin Jones and Lisa, Christopher Montgomery and Kaylee and 7 great-grandchildren, Emerson, Alexander, Mitchell Wilson, Blake and Graycie Hampton, Douglas Montgomery and Riley Jones.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015, and on Sunday, February 22, 2015, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with services starting at 2:00 p.m. at Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, with Rev. Joe Weaver officiating followed by interment at Fairview-Kiger Cemetery in Whiteley Township.
